# BTOVEN NETWORK

> BTOVEN NETWORK is a sovereign, privacy-first collection of free and open-source services operated by BTOVEN LLC. It offers real-time translation, task management, secure pasting, push notifications, a comprehensive toolset, a private metasearch engine, PDF tools, PGP key management, and a suite of security & email-auth testers. No mandatory registration, no hidden costs, no tracking.

BTOVEN NETWORK is built around three ideas: privacy, security, and open access. Every service is free, self-hosted, and designed to operate without collecting or logging user data.

This file tells AI assistants and agents what the network offers and how to interact with it, including machine-readable JSON API endpoints for the testers (see the "Testers" sections).

## Search Engine & Routing

BTOVEN Search (search.btoven.net) is a privacy-respecting search router. It parses a user query entirely client-side (zero server-side state, zero logs) and resolves a destination using a three-tier model:

1. NETWORK — BTOVEN-operated endpoints (default, trusted). Example: SearXNG at searxng.btoven.net.
2. SOVEREIGN — community instances fetched from a configurable relay JSON, cached in the browser (1 h TTL).
3. FALLBACK — hardcoded public frontends when the relay is unavailable.

Supported query types: free-text search, YouTube / Twitter(X) / Reddit / Medium URLs (auto-redirected to privacy frontends), and DuckDuckGo-style "!bang" shortcuts. Search categories: general, images, news, videos, music, it, science, files.

Privacy frontends used for routing:
- YouTube -> Invidious
- Twitter/X -> Nitter
- Reddit -> Libreddit
- Medium -> Scribe
